ģEpisode 2: New Areas of Research

Cardinal, Blake and Turner are deep within the abandoned laboratory of the evil scientist Extar. The lab isn't quite as 'abandoned' as it first seemed and the three paranormal hunters are under attack from the hideous creatures that Extar created and left to die.

Blake: These bastards are tougher than the usual ones! Perhaps Extar was researching a new strain of the soldiers. Turner: I don't give a fuck what they are for, as long as they're tryin' to kill me I think I'll shoot first and ask questions later! Cardinal: We are wasting time here, we need to catch up with Extar wherever he is now. Judging by the notes he left behind, Extar might be on the verge of a whole new area of creature development. Cardinal: What is this? These creatures have some kind of cybernetic endoskeleton. No wonder they were so damn hard to kill.
Blake: They were smarter than the usual ones. You notice how the first one somehow raised the alarm to the others? Turner: Great, so you're trying to say the monsters are somehow linked with each other now? Cardinal: I couldn't say for sure, it mentioned nothing of it in the notes, but I must admit, for rogue monsters abandoned for weeks they were remarkably organised in their attack. Turner: Well everything really is dead now, we should get the hell out.
Cardinal: We should head back to HQ, we'll need some heavy-duty equipment if Extar has any more of those cyborg soldiers. 'Headquarters' is an old church converted to fighting Extar and his twisted creations. Automatic sentry guns guard the entrances to a small but well-stocked armoury and Cardinal's private quarters which he uses to monitor Extar's movements using hacked spy satellite uplinks. Blake: You think this is going over-kill a little? Turner: Hell no! There ain't no use keeping this stuff if we ain't gonna use it!
Cardinal: A private freight company recieved an order two weeks ago at this station near the abandoned lab. The order listed the things to be moved as of 'biological and military importance'. Forged MoD forms were presented and the load was moved to this recieving depot here. Cardinal: This can only be Extar. There was a fire in the depot two days after the cargo arrived but the owner of the depot has been stalling an investigation into the causes. Something is going on here, we should take a look. Blake: What do you think the fire was about? An accident? Maybe some of Extar's 'cargo' escaped and they used a fire to cover it up? Cardinal: We can only speculate from here, we should drive over there immediately!

Next episode! What is Extar storing in the depot? Where was he moving his diabolical cargo?
